The recent rainy weather has caused a large tree to fall across the fence of our dog park.  Your board is in the process of reviewing the various options in dealing with this situation.  Our landscape company has provided a tentative quotation for removal of the downed tree and fence repair.  In addition, they informed us that there is another large tree with advancing wood rot that will ultimately fall into the same approximate area in the dog park.  The estimated cost to remove the existing fallen tree is $1,100 and the estimated cost to remove the rotting tree is $5,000.

One option the board is considering is to reduce the size of the dog park by relocating the northern fence.   Moving the fence line beyond the fallen tree eliminates the $6,100 removal costs, cuts future mulch maintenance in half from $1,800 to $900 and still provides a large area for dogs.  Multiple quotations are currently being solicited.

The board has unanimously voted to spend approximately $3,700 to replace dead bushes and two dead front yard trees.  The need to replace these was determined several months ago during an inspection walk with the Landscape Chair, the landscape company and a board member.
