Good morning.

Due to equipment failure,  the work on adjusting the irrigation schedules has had to stop pending discussions with Landscape Workshop personnel and repairs to the system.

More importantly, the irrigation system for approximately half of the homes in Grace in Acworth may receive no irrigation or only sporadic watering until the problem is repaired (or replaced).

Let me explain.  First, some background.

As designed and installed by Windsong, we have over 100 individual irrigation zones controlled by two units installed at the Clubhouse.  At the time of installation, the highest capacity available controller was capable of a maximum of 99 zones so two units were necessary.  One of those two controllers has failed and, to use a technical term, is acting “flaky”.

So, while the zones in the working controller should operate according the designated schedule, those in the second unit may not operate at all or may do so erratically.

It is likely that shrubs and the Bermuda Grass lawns will fare okay during a brief dry spell, especially if the grass is left a bit longer than usual while the problems are addressed.  Annuals or other plantings may not be as tolerant so perhaps manual watering with a hose might be good idea.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience but this problem came unexpectedly and needs to be addressed as quickly as possible.  Rest assured that the Landscape Committee as well as the Board are making every effort to minimize the impact on our homeowners and get the system back to normal operation.

For the Landscape Committee,

Len Sanchez
